I-O 5435/5435e Ethernet IPDS Print Server

    I-O 5435/ Multi-Protocol Print Server

Ethernet IPDS Print Server for the IBM AS/400 and Mainframe Systems

I-O AFP/IPDS Print Servers enable IPDS printing over an Ethernet LAN to a PCL 5e laser printer. Two models are available the I-O 5435 for AS/400 environments and the I-O 5435e, I-O's Enterprise AFP/IPDS-to-LAN print server for IBM Mainframe environments.

In addition to operating as an AFP/IPDS-to-LAN print server for IBM AS/400 and Mainframe systems, these print servers also function as a standard Ethernet print server for Windows, Novell, OS/2 and Unix environments. They can even support IBM SCS printing from IBM hosts. Industry standard TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, NetBIOS, and SNA protocols provide the user with printer connectivity to virtually any host or client.

The unique design of the I-O AFP/IPDS Print Server allows a single PCL 5e laser printer to appear to the host as two separate type printers (IPDS and SCS) at the same time. Multi-host capabilities allow up to ten IBM hosts to send SCS printing to a single printer.

In today's expanding LAN environment, I-O's easy-to-use PrintControlTM utility supports multiple I-O Print Servers. This powerful utility makes inital set up, administration, and updates a painless and simple task.

    FeaturesBenefits
Offloading of Data ConversionEliminates unnecessary IBM Host or PC overhead by converting EBCDIC data
directly on the I-O 5435/5435e. This also speeds up printing.
True Print CompleteNo more wondering when a print job is complete.
Duplex SupportPrint on both sides of the page for more efficient printing (for duplex printers).
Page Offset FunctionsProvides more flexibility in page positioning. No need to modify host applications.
Supports over 100 IPDS FontsProvides more fonts to choose from than other IPDS interfaces, including IBM 4312/17 emulation fonts.
On-board FLASH MemoryAllows for field upgrades of interface code. Always support the latest new features from I-O.
Simultaneous, Multi-Protocol PrintingMaximizes printer utilization by supporting printing from a variety of hosts, servers and clients.
PrintControl UtilityProvides simple configuration from a local or remote network.
High Speed Parallel PortTakes advantage of the LAN printer's maximum print speed even when processing complete AFP/IPDS jobs.
